Deja View: Old Movies Made New for 2010

Some things never go out of style: leather jackets, little black dresses, laughter and good stories. Hollywood knows this, and its denizens are experts on what to wear, when to wear it, and when to air it again. Mining old clothes for new appeal can be risky, though, and the same hazard applies when directors decide to re-make classic films. Will they succeed like perennially cool denim and plaid or tank like bell bottoms? Only time and audiences will tell whether the following 10 movies will be worth the redo…

Alice in Wonderland

Down the rabbit hole she goes again! Alice took her first cinematic journey in 1903, but it was Disney’s 1951 version that remains the classic for viewers born in the last 60 years. Since then, she’s been tripping down that hole fairly regularly, falling for TV versions in 1985 and 1999. But now this classic story will get the ultimate cinematic makeover, care of Tim Burton. Starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, the 2010 version promises to present us with an even curiouser retelling of this deliciously nutty tale. (credit: Walt Disney Pictures)

Awesome movie! Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp totally rocked this movie! Way better than the original and DEFINITELY worth the re-do.

curiouser
Dear Anon, "Curiouser and curiouser" is a quote from the book. It was not an editing error.

Not A Remake
SAVIE
People keep saying that Alice in Wonderland is a remake. its NOT!! i repeat NOT a remake. Its a continuation of the original story. Alice had returned to Underland to defeat the Red Queen. A fabulous movie by the way alan rickman and Johnny Depp are genius. Love Tim Burtons interpretation of underland the detail is fabulous. But for the record people its not a remake its a continuation.

This movie is one big Feminist statement! The 3D effects did nothing for this movie ass well!! Taking someone's creation and infusing it with your own political agenda is not being creative!! And then trying to hide said agenda with lots of special effects because you have absolutely nothing to add to the genre is being intellectually lazy.
Dosent matter if he is being lazy, he made a damn good movie! Do you think they were "Lazy" when they did the make-up on Johnny deep? Do you think they were "Lazy" when they made the sets? Or "Lazy" when they made the comstumes? Maybe they were lazy when they just made a movie off of a book, but they worked hard to have the make-up, costumes, and sets! I'm sorry, but the way they made Johnny Deep look (LOVED IT :D) didn't look very easy to do, or something that someone "Lazy" would do. And besides, if you think they were being "Lazy" then why don't you just make an original idea for a movie?

Carry, you idiot
Anthony
his name is Johnny Deep, it's Depp, I thought the first time was a typo, but when you spelt it the exact same way the second time, I knew you were an idiot "As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot."
