It’s a War Out There: Top Ten Modern War Movies

 

So goes the Edwin Starr song, “War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!” and when it comes to real life, we have to agree. But strife, conflict and heartbreak are as good for cinema as they are bad for life, and the following films, all made within the last 5 years, owe their existence to the hardships and brotherhoods fostered by conflict.
