It was a reasonable sequel. Lots of action for those that like action movies. Who decided in this caption that it marks the decline of Western civilization? Maybe you need to find another profession.

This movie sucked!
The Ripper
It had no plot, neither of its' stars can act (especially with Megan Fox only doing those retarded cheesecake poses for those fat horny fan boys) so what was it again that made this movie so great? Oh yeah because a bunch of fat horny fan boys say so! You clowns sound like the same idiots I heard snoring through Inglourious Basterds...

If every critic who panned Transformers had to look for a new job, there wouldn't be any critics left.

ONe of the worst sequals ever. I grew up with transformers and of course i could pick it apart..but. The first one did not have the key elemnts... it was still a good movie. the second was 3 hours of cheap comedy and cheap action. action to hide fact that there was no plot whatsoever.. zero character development and worst of all... a 3 hour GM commercial. Being that TRansformers is a childhood relic for anyone in theyre late 20's and early 30's plus one of the most original story concepts ever.. there is a responsibility here to make a great movie. Shame on u micheal bay... SELLOUT. Stick to making action scenes and leave story telling to someone with intellegence and talent!!!!

Boo. This movie is just as bad as the first one, the only good parts are the robots, the acting is horrifying, and the only reason I even sat through it is because I used to love watching Transformers when I was a kid.

... those who love lots of action should have nothing to complain about on this movie. Sequels that get a lot of hype rarely live up to people's expectations, so I think it's fair to tell such people to clear your head of all expectations when watching hyped up movies. Doing that might actually give the producers a fair shake. Set the bar high and you'll always be disappointed.
On the other hand, such producers have a duty to uphold the first rote of movie-making: have a good story. It's not enough to fill out a mystery and put some flashy stuff onscreen. In their headlong flight to finish the movie within x amount of time they overlooked the fact that this script just didn't have any glitter to it. The backstory was well developed, but the frontstory was sorely lacking.
I'd give this movie two of five stars, for effects and some comical moments.
