Canada Masquerading as Someplace Else

Even people who have never set foot in Canada have probably seen it on the big screen in a Hollywood blockbuster� albeit posing as someplace else. With its diverse landscape and architecture, intense weather, low exchange rate, outstanding film crews and multiple soundstages, Canada is an American filmmaker's paradise. Just don't expect Toronto to be called Toronto (New York or Chicago is more like it). Ditto Vancouver, Montreal and Hamilton. Literally hundreds of movies have been shot north of the 49th parallel but set elsewhere. Here are a few.
