Spotlight On: Margot Kidder

She got her start on TV. And while recent years have seen her primarily working back in that medium (Smallville, Brothers & Sisters, The L Word), there was a moment in the 1970s when Margot Kidder - born in faraway Yellowknife in 1948, the daughter of a mining engineer - was a true blue Hollywood movie star and sex symbol complete with Playboy pictorial in 1975. Probably best known for her role as Lois Lane opposite the late Christopher Reeve in the Superman series, Kidder appeared in a handful of films that were either smashes in their day or went on to become sleeper hits.
