Brad Pitt's zombie movie World War Z has overcome a potentially disastrous hurdle, as no one involved with the film will be charged with possession of illegal firearms.

Over 85 guns ranging from AK-47s to sniper rifles along with ammunition were seized by Hungarian SWAT in October, according to E! Online. The weapons were discovered at Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport.

The film's production executives, including Pitt who is producing as well as starring, were questioned by anti-terrorism authorities regarding the find. Authorities were concerned that the weapons could fall into the hands of illegal arms traffickers.

E! now reports, however, that Hungary's National Bureau of Investigations is dropping the case on a technicality — the Bureau was unable to identify who exactly had ownership of the firearms and was therefore unable to hold anyone responsible.

Hungarian newspaper Metropol clarifies, via website Pesticide.hu, that, because the guns were seized in the airport's customs-free area where there was apparently no 'organization or person with ownership rights" waiting to claim them, no criminal responsibility could be established. This is despite the fact that the seized goods were then returned to 'their owner,' the film's crew.

World War Z is based on Max Brooks' 2006 novel of the same name. The film tells the story of U.N. employee Gerry Lane, to be played by Pitt, and his race to put a stop to a global zombie pandemic. The flick is set to hit theatres December 21 of this year.
