Greatest Movie Comedy Duos
Lots of actor duos achieve status in Hollywood, from crime fighters to criminals, lovers to losers. But few are as enduring as comedy duos. Maybe it's because comedic chemistry is so rare and yet utterly palpable: audiences know it when they see it (as with our list) and also when they don't (Ishtar, anyone?). With the release of Disney's Old Dogs, John Travolta and Robin Williams shoot for the ranks of the funniest ever? and heaven knows the stakes are high.

a pretty lame list
Thomas
yeah I can see a couple that belong here but Mike Myers twice? Oh and why just Americans? I know Mike Myers is Canadian (yay! just like me!) but I keep thinking of the Brits like Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry who were extremely funny together as Wooster and Jeeves and of course the ladies from Absolutely Fabulous who are simply outrageously funny! The US of A doesn't hold a monopoly on funny people you know...

I would also have to agree. But were also forgetting The Two Ronnies, and if you want to talk about the greatest of all time, how could you for forget Laurel and Hardy.

Thanks for reminding me Bill - how could I have forgotten The Two Ronnies? (d'oh! - LOL) As for classic duo's there's also Hope and Crosby too and although it's a stretch but growing up how could we have forgotten Fred and Barney or even Rocky and Bullwinkle?

Comedy Duos
Mister B
How about Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier? As a child I saw two of their movies and I still laugh at some of the scenes I remember.

Comedy Pairings

With 2 (and, perhaps, one other) exceptions, the list is made up of comedy pairings. I would hardly call them a duo if they appeared on only 1 or 2 movies together.

Comedy Duos
C Bertelsen
Wayne and Shuster one of the longest running comedy shows is overlooked. But then again what the heck they are only Canadian. !!!
Before preparinf such a list a bit of polling might have been in order.

true but they had played the same characters in Uptown Saturday Night and the appropriately named sequel Let's Do It Again and I tell you they were both very funny movies!

Jim Carrey's Canadian too (although he doesn't act like it...)
