Crash MUCH better than Brokeback

The movie Crash deserved the Oscar that year, hands down. Brokeback had nothing to offer...

My gay friend loved Brokeback Mountain
Storm
The reality: My gay friend loved Brokeback Mountain. All the heteros I know found it absolutely boring. As for Crash, everyone I know who has seen it were "moved" by it, as I was. So, I don't know who is writing this,
but if you think that Brokeback Mountain should of won tha best picture, you are probably part of the 8% group of the population that thinks that way. So, yes, it deserved an Oscar in the category: "Best picture for the gay community"... I bought the DVD's of Brokeback mountain and Crash...I've watched Crash 5 times, and when I finished watching Brokeback Mountain, I trowed the DVD in the garbage. As far as your critic of the dialogues of Crash, you're just losing credibility on trying to turn a great movie down. Give Haggis the respect he deserves for creating a movie that pushed everyone who's seen it to question themselves on their degree of racism. Haggis played perfectly with the viewers "perceptions". Crash deserved to win over Brokeback Mountain as it did.

Crash

I liked Brokeback Mountain and thought the performances by Gylenhal and Ledger were quite good. However, Crash was and with the benefit of time, has proven to be the more lasting in terms of effect. I don't know who compiles these lists, but to criticize Haggis' script is ridiculous. I find the screenplay to be extrodinary in how it blends all the story lines together. Still watch it and use it as a teaching tool.

"Unexplainable"
Ashamed
Who put this article together?
The word "unexplainable" doesn't exist. It isn't proper English.
The word the person needed to use is "inexplicable"
Now for the average person, that may not be a big deal, but if someone is supposed to be a "professional" journalist, this mistake would not fly. It isn't acceptable for a high school term paper, much less journalism school.
A better topic than Oscar winners might be: "The Internet - Making Things Convenient or Making Us Stupid?"

Crash
CW
Agreed, Crash was a plot driven movie with several plots that tie together at the end for a dramatic conclusion. Great writing and directing. Haggis and the picture deserved the Oscars.

Yeap. I fully agree. Crash is one of those films you can watch over and over with the same interest. CW is right on the spot. The interconnecting plots in addition to seeing some of the actors in Crash break away from their stereotypical roles lends much more depth to Crash as great film deserving of an Oscar.

Crash was a stinker
Anonymous
Sorry I knew many non-gay people who were moved by Brokeback. And since when does the Acadamy vote based on what the public wants to see? Crash was a total yawner for me. I saw it once, was baffled how it was nominated, and never watched it again.
